St Helens Law are coordinating claims arising out of the bus accident outside Cowley School when three school buses all came into collision with each other resulting in traumatic times for the pupils involved.

There are dozens of the pupils who are complaining of soft tissue injuries and psychological problems caused by the accident. One of the windscreens on one of the buses shattered glass all over the children resulting in many of then exiting the bus out of the emergency exits.

St Helens Law are representing the family of a St Helens man who was denied treatment for two years from the Five Boroughs Partnership resulting in him committing suicide. The therapy needed was supposed to have been given within ten weeks but the Partnership took two years and still had not delivered the treatment. The family are convinced that the father would still be alive were it not for the lack of care of the partnership.

St Helens Law is proud to announce its new Legal Costs service, Cost Solicitors.

The new service includes Legal Costs negotiations for both claimants and defendants. Cost Solicitors offers initial free advice, and has its own specialised website at www.costsolicitors.co.uk 

The personal injury team at St Helens Law have just settled a claim for a man from the Midlands whose hand was trapped in a Trumpf Press machine. The insurers initially sought to dent liability but after proceedings were issued the solicitors for the insurers settled the claim on a full liability basis. Mr Robert Chilton was able to return to work after surgery and after his case was settled he said "I am extremely glad that I instructed St Helens Law. I wanted to let matters drop at first when the employers denied liability but I left the matter up to my solicitors who did an excellent job. "

The claim was brought under the Provison and Use of Work Regulations 1998 and the Management of Health Safety at Work Regulations 1999. 

Having resolved a claim for damages on behalf of the Estate of a deceased patient at Whiston Hospital the Clinical Negligence team at St Helens Law are now negotiating with H M Coroner as to whether there now should be a belated inquest into the death. Although no inquest was ordered at the time of the death the Coroner is seeking authority from the Home Office to have an inquest ordered.

Where a body has been cremated a Coroner cannot order an inquest without consent of the Home Office. St Helens Law are confident that the decision will be favourable as the matter is very much in the public interest. 

St Helens Law have today opened additional offices in Shaw Street, St Helens to enable the development and expansion of the Personal Injury Department, and to facilitate the expansion of the Private Client Department in Hardshaw Street, St Helens.

We recently teamed up with Wish FM and Johnny Vegas to produce a suite of radio adverts to promote St Helens Law throughout the Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire area. Listen out for our advert which is running for the next 6 weeks.
